What are porcelain veneers?
Porcelain veneers are custom-made, thin, ceramic tooth coverings that are permanently attached to your teeth with dental cement. They can completely transform the appearance of your smile in only a few office visits.
How do you make porcelain veneers?
First, we will design your new smile using our Smile Evaluation and Design process. Then our dental lab will create your custom shaped and colored porcelain veneers using a mold of your natural teeth.
How will the porcelain veneers affect my natural teeth?
Your natural teeth will need to be slightly cut down to make room for the porcelain veneers. Once the veneers are applied, they will look, function and feel exactly like your real teeth.
Is there any special maintenance needed to take care of my new porcelain veneers?
No. You just need to maintain them the same way you would your natural teeth, with regular brushing, flossing and professional cleanings.
Do porcelain veneers become discolored like natural teeth?
They won't stain as easily as your natural teeth because they are made of a glass-like material that is not as porous as your natural tooth enamel.
How long will porcelain veneers last?
With proper care they should last over ten years.
