Porcelain Crowns

If you have chipped, gapped, discolored or damaged teeth, porcelain crowns can greatly improve their appearance and function and give you back your beautiful smile. Porcelain crowns are custom-shaped and colored 'tooth caps' that cover the entire surface area of your tooth. They're easy to apply; and typically it takes two office visits to complete the whole process.

The Procedure

If you are located near Fresno, Visalia or Reedley, your first step will be to schedule a complimentary consultation with our cosmetic dentists. During that appointment, Drs. Dennis or Deric Ikuta can examine your teeth and answer any questions you may have. The rest of the process will go as follows:

1. We'll prepare the damaged tooth for the crown by removing the decayed tissue and shaping it to make room for the crown.
2. Then, we'll take a mold of your tooth to send to the dental lab that's making the custom crown.
3. Before you leave, we'll fit you with a temporary crown to wear until your last appointment
4. When your porcelain crown is ready, we'll test it to make sure the shape and size is correct before permanently adhering it to your tooth with dental cement.

Your new porcelain crown will reinforce the strength of your natural tooth and will be virtually undetectable.
