Dental implant process

If you lose a tooth, it’s important to act quickly. You should know that, in most cases, when you lose a tooth, you’ll have to replace it with an artificial tooth.

Dental implants are artificial tooth roots, designed to replace missing teeth. The implant is inserted below your gum line and firmly into the bone of your jaw. Once healed, an artificial tooth – called a pontic – is placed on the implant. The end result is a permanent replacement, and the pontic is custom-created to match your existing teeth in size, shape and color. No one will be able to tell that your replacement tooth is false. This permanent replacement will last a lifetime – all you have to do is brush it and floss it as you would your natural tooth.
