Flossing

By and large, it’s the number one type of dental neglect we see among our patients: flossing. Or, rather, a lack of flossing. Patients know they should floss at least twice a day, yet they rarely do. “It takes too long” or “I don’t see the point” are common reasons given. But flossing is a vital part of maintaining a beautiful, healthy smile.

Regular flossing
removes plaque from between the teeth and at the gum line. By removing this plaque, you’re significantly decreasing your risk of periodontal disease. When you meet with me, I’ll show you how to properly floss. Some patients have difficulty flossing. If that’s the case, I have various types of floss holders that usually work well. Combined with brushing, flossing is the best way to keep your teeth healthy for a lifetime!
